Error: 'Skipped: User has not yet earned any rewards and does not exist in rewards system...' When Trying to Reward a User

Overview

When trying to reward a user, this error may appear:

Skipped: User has not yet earned any rewards and does not exist in the rewards system. Visit their profile in Jive to add them to Rewards.

This is expected if the account has not yet accessed the instance or performed an action that would earn them points, as users are created in the Rewards system the first time an action is triggered for their account. This article outlines the steps on how to resolve this issue.

Resolution

To add the user in the Rewards system and enable their accounts to earn rewards, do the following:

  1. Go to the Rewards console > Events and assign a single point to the event Your Profile or Content was viewed by someone.
  2. Next, visit the user's profile to add a point and have it created in the Rewards system.
