Unable to Update Profile Fields for Users When Jive Is Configured with Directory Server

Overview

When Jive is configured with any Directory Server, some of the fields on the users' profile are not editable from the user interface in Jive Site. Even admin users who have full access cannot update these fields.

 

Root Cause

The reason why these fields are not editable is that these are mapped to directory server fields.

 

Process

To check the mapping, follow the below steps:

  1. In the Admin Console, go to People > Settings > Directory Server Settings.
  2. Go to the User Mapping tab.
  3. Check the mapping of the fields that are not editable.
  4. Confirm these mappings with LDAP admin.

Uneditable fields should be mapped to respective fields in Directory Server, meaning that they can be updated only from the Directory server such as Microsoft Active Directory.
