Can't Delete a Tile or Make Changes to a Page: The Error Message "Unsupported content type image/x-icon" Appears

Overview

After making changes to a page and clicking on the Save button at the bottom, an error message with the text "Unsupported content type image/x-icon" appears.

Solution

This issue is caused by a Helpful Links tile on the page that is using an unsupported image type as its link image. To resolve this problem:

  1. Navigate to the page.
  2. Click on the Gear Icon, then Edit Page.
  3. Review the page for any Helpful Links tiles.
  4. Identify the links in the tile that have no icons or have a "broken image" placeholder appear in the place where their icon should appear (for example, an image that looks like mceclip0.png).
  5. Click on the small gear button at the top right of the Helpful Links tile.
  6. Update the link image for the links you identified in Step 4 to an image that is in one of these formats:
    • PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP
  7. Save the tile changes.
  8. Repeat Steps 4-7 for any other Helpful Links tiles on the page.
  9. Click on the Save button.
