Overview
This article provides the process for assigning 'Space' permissions to a user group not having those already. The article also provides the procedure for editing such permissions for a user group which already has those assigned.
Information
For any space, you can assign various permission levels to individual users or groups of users. You can assign custom permissions levels for any space or sub-space in the community. For more information about space permission levels and overrides, see Standard Space Permission Levels and Custom Permission Levels and User Overrides for Spaces. Please note that the user group must exist before you can assign it permissions.
Process
To set up permissions for a user group on a space:
- Navigate to Admin Console > Permissions > Space Permissions.
- Under View and edit a space's permissions, find and select the space you want to set permissions for.
- On the Permissions For: <space> page, under Groups with access, review permissions for user groups, and:
- To assign permissions to a user group not yet listed, you:
- Click Add Group.
- Enter the name of the user group to add.
- Click the Select Permissions button.
- Select checkboxes (in the Space Permissions for <user group> dialog box) for the permission levels you want to apply.
- To edit permissions for a user group already listed, you:
- Locate the group in the list.
- Click edit permissions next to the group's permission level.
- Select or unselect checkboxes (in the Space Permissions for <user group> dialog box) for the permission levels you want to apply or remove respectively.
- To assign permissions to a user group not yet listed, you:
- Click Set Permissions.
Confirmation
The desired user group gets the applied permissions.
