Overview
This article provides the process for adding or editing permissions for a 'User Group' in Jive, under the permissions' page for any place.
Information
While you can assign permissions to individuals, you can also set up permissions in the Admin Console to grant various levels of access to groups of users, at once. To review permissions that a group already has assigned, you can visit the permissions' page under a place (e.g., space, blog, or social group, etc.), and see under Groups with access. Please see Permissions by Place(s) for more details.
Process
To set up permissions for user groups:
- Navigate to the permissions page for a place.
- Once on the permissions page, under View and edit <place> permissions, under Groups with access, review permissions for user groups, and:
- To assign permissions to a user group not yet added:
- Click Add Group.
- Enter the name of the user group to add.
- Click the Select Permissions button.
- Select the permissions (in the <Place> Permissions for <user group> dialog box) you want to apply for the user group.
- To edit permissions for a user group already added:
- Locate the group in the list.
- Next to the group's name, click Edit Permissions.
- Select or unselect the permissions (in the <Place> Permissions for <user group> dialog box) you want to apply or remove for the user group.
- To assign permissions to a user group not yet added:
- Click Set Permissions.
Confirmation
The user group gets the applied permissions.
