Overview

This article presents the resolution for the issue which occurs when the user downloads document from Jive to their workstation and opens the content in the MS Office.

On the JIVE tab, the file is not connected to the Jive instance and users cannot edit the document, but only publish it as a new document.

This issue happens even if the document is uploaded to the Jive via a browser.

Environment

All Jive environments with Jive for Office installed on the workstations

Resolution

Jive supports attachments larger than 50 MB. For collaborating on documents via Jive for Office, it should be below 50 MB. This is how Jive works.

However, Jive for Office comes as a plugin, named Extended APIs. There is a property in the plugin called officeintegration.conversion.filelimit whose value can be altered to extend this attachment limit.

Follow the steps as mentioned below to apply this workaround:

1. Navigate to Admin Console > System > Management > System Properties.
2. Set Property Name as officeintegration.conversion.filelimit and
   Property Value as 200000.
3. Save Property.
