Create a copy Button Missing for Users With View Permission for a Document

Overview

You notice that when a user with View permissions (and not with Edit or Author permissions) tries to copy the Document, they do not see the Create a copy button under the Actions menu.

Information

Currently, the Create a copy button only shows up (as in the screenshot below) if the user has Edit or Author permissions on the Document.

There is a feature enhancement request raised to include this button for users with only View permissions in JIVESPECS-1486.
