Overview
You notice that your HTML Tiles are appearing as blank or are showing long text strings instead of the expected content. When you edit the Tiles, the HTML markup is not showing. You may see errors in the browser console stating, "Uncaught Error: Malformed UTF-8 data." You may have tested in other browsers and the issue does not appear there.
Solution
This behavior has been isolated to the HTML Tile versions 1.3.23 and 1.3.5 which experienced issues decoding content. These versions of the HTML Tile have since been rolled back and it is suggested that those with these versions of the Tile action the steps below to acquire a functioning version of the Tile.
Note: While not isolated to any particular browser, you may find that the issue is not reproducible within other browsers that you normally do not use to access your Jive community. Some Jive environments may have already had their HTML Tiles automatically reverted, resulting in alternate browsers no longer seeing the issue.
While actioning the steps below, if your HTML Tile is not on Version 1.3.23 or 1.3.5, you can skip to clearing your Browser Cache.
- Select your Avatar > Add-Ons.
- Locate the HTML Tile within the Installed tab.
-
Select the Action Cogwheel > Check for Updates.
-
Verify that this no longer shows the affected versions(“Version: 1.3.23” or "Version: 1.3.5").
- Clear your web browser's cache.
