Overview
The issue at hand involves external links on a website, specifically Docushare and Vimeo links, redirecting to the Jive instance instead of the intended destination. This occurs when copying these links, which leads to the addition of a prefix and the external links redirect to your Jive instance. This problem persists even after unchecking the 'Open external links in a new tab' option in the admin console.
Solution
To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:
- Disable the
Open external links in a new tab
setting in the Jive Admin console underSystem > Settings > External Links
. - Perform a rolling restart of the Jive instance. For Cloud instances, you can contact Jive Support regarding the same.
Please note that this may result in temporary performance degradation or interruptions for approximately 20 minutes, although access to the instance will be maintained throughout this period.
After these steps, test the links to ensure they are working as expected.
Summary
By disabling the 'Open external links in a new tab' setting and performing a rolling restart of the Jive instance, the issue of external links redirecting to the Jive instance can be resolved.
