Does Jive for Office or Jive for Outlook Support TLS 1.2?

This article provides more information about the Jive for Office and Jive for Outlook support for TLS 1.2, and how to check your Jive for Office or Jive for Outlook version.

 

Solution

By default, all versions of Jive for Office and Jive for Outlook after version 30.7.66 support TLS 1.2, and will attempt to use TLS 1.2 first when establishing a connection to your Jive community. 

Users can check the version of Jive for Office or Jive for Outlook they are using by following these steps:

Jive for Office

  1. Click on the Jive tab in the Office program.
  2. Click on the Help menu.
  3. Click on About.
  4. The version they are using will appear: mceclip0.png

Jive for Outlook

  1. Click on the Help menu in the addon section:mceclip1.png
  2. Click on About.
  3. The version they are using will appear: mceclip2.png

If the version used is prior to 30.7.66, TLS 1.2 connections will not be established by default. Users can update their Jive for Office or Outlook version by following these steps:

  1. Logging into your Jive community.
  2. Clicking on their user avatar.
  3. Clicking on Tools.
  4. Clicking on the Download Now buttons for Jive for Office or Jive for Outlook.
