Error When Accessing Phase Substitution In Admin Console: 'An unexpected error has occurred'

Overview

When using Jive Hosted/On-Premise 9.3 or 9.4 instances, you will see the error An unexpected error has occurred while accessing the phase substitution page in the Admin Console if you have one or more phase substitution rules already configured.

 

Environment

Jive Hosted/On-Premise 9.3 or 9.4.

 

Steps to reproduce

  1. Navigate to Admin Console > System > Settings > Phase Substitutions.

  2. You will see the error below if you had phase substitution rules preconfigured.

    This error does not occur if currently there are no phase substitution rules configured.

 

Information

This behavior has been identified as a bug in Jive Hosted/On-Premise 9.3 and 9.4. There is a fix available in Jive Hosted/On-Premise 9.5 with the issue key JVHOPST-33488. You can contact your Customer Success Manager to coordinate on upgrading your instance to resolve this issue.

 

In the meantime, you can use the following URL to access the Phrase Substitution page as a workaround:

  https://<your_jive_community_url>/admin/settings-resourcebundle-rules_execute.jspa?themeName=custom&localeCode=en

Please ensure to replace <your_jive_community_url>, custom, and en based on the actual values for your Jive community.
