Overview
You have a social group with a special character, such as an umlaut (ü) or sharp-s (ß), in its name. When any content is added/edited in this group, the followers do not receive email notifications.
- You have double-checked the notification settings for the group.
- Users are receiving emails from other groups and other activities in your Jive installation.
Solution
This issue has been seen intermittently in various versions of Jive in combination with different SMTP servers. It has been reproduced on Jive Hosted/On-Premise 9.0.5 and Jive Cloud 3006.10. A fix may be available in future releases of Jive.
A workaround is to remove the special character from the name of the Group:
- You can adjust the name via Manage > Settings as a Group Admin
- Once here, you can select the Group Name to open the Edit Group pane.
Note: After making this edit, you may have to wait for upto an hour for the email notifications to start arriving.
<supportagent> As of writing this article, there was no Jira recorded for this issue, and no mention on Worx either.</supportagent>
