Overview
Customers may need from Support to know the total size of a Jive instance and the number of items stored in Jive Environment (Jive Community instance), both in terms of the consumed GB of storage and the number of different content types that are stored in their environment like documents, attachments, discussions, blogs, posts, status updates, polls, tasks, videos, photos, ideas, bookmarks.
Solution
There are actually three different pieces of information needed in order to fully answer this question:
- the size of the Jive static files (binary store and application)
- the size of the Jive databases
- the number of items in Jive
Unfortunately, there is no user-side interface for gathering automatically this information.
The number of items requires reporting on different areas of the program, and as such, it is considered "Custom Reporting", and it is outside of Jive Support Team's Scope of Work.
Customers can accomplish the same goal using API. The most useful API calls for this task are those pertaining to Places and Content.
The total size of the Jive instance, including both the static files (binary store and application) and the database, can instead be requested to Support.
