Overview
When doing polls, results of responses with no votes show a bar which is confusing and does not reliably scale as 'no votes'. This article provides a solution for this issue.
Information
Environment
Jive 7
Reproduction Steps
Follow these steps to reproduce the issue and check if it exists in your instance:
- Create a poll.
- Send some poll responses leaving one or more responses empty without any votes.
- Check poll results.
- Current Behavior: A bar displays for responses with no votes.
- Expected Result: No bar displays for responses with no votes.
Root Cause
When there are no votes, the bar is not removed. The poll feature is behaving as designed and was improved in a later release.
Process
Upgrade to Jive 9.0.6 or a higher release to resolve this issue. The modified poll bar displays the number of votes along with the percentage to avoid any confusion. Refer to the screenshot below:
Confirmation
For a response with no votes, the bar displays the following figures for complete clarity:
- Zero percentage.
- Zero value out of the total.
