Overview

Content viewed two days earlier would not disappear. Content unviewed for ten days would not change. Old stories are appearing in the tile (Ring the Bell, The Holman Way), and this is in addition to the outdated content appearing in My Company News tiles.

Resolution

1. Check if rebuilding the news streams resolves this issue. 

   Admin Console > System > Settings > News

2. If old content still displays after rebuilding the news streams, check the system properties below. Adjusting these properties back to the default should resolve the issue.

   Admin Console > System > Management > System Properties

   • For the News Stream tile, the expected behavior is that:

     Two system properties exist for filtering news feed:

     • * jive.news.default_results_read_item_lookback_days which is the lookback for the news feed that was viewed by a user from X days ago (default is 2 days);

     • * jive.news.default_results_unread_item_lookback_days which is the lookback for the news feed that was not viewed by a user from X days ago (default is 10 days).

Note: these properties are available for on-premise users. Cloud customers will need to open a ticket into the Jive Support Portal.
