Error: 'Your content could not be saved due to an error...' While Accessing an External Group

Overview

A user has created a group that is externally accessible. When they invite an external user, they receive the invitation, however, when they try to accept it, it fails. The following errors appear in the log:

'Your content could not be saved due to an error. You may have been logged out. If this problem persists please contact your system administrator. Click here to refresh this page.'

Root Cause Analysis

The default permissions for 'Everyone' and 'All Registered Users' groups have been removed.


Solution

  1. Go to Admin  Console > Permissions > Social Group Permissions.

  2. Change the permissions back to default, i.e., re-add the default permissions for 'Everyone' and 'All Registered Users'.
