Overview

It is not possible to create a space that is separate from the parent/root space of the community and has no connection to it. It is however possible to create a space that is inside the root community but does not inherit permissions from it so that access to it can be limited according to your organization's needs.

Solution

To create a space that does not inherit permissions from the root community, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the Admin Console.
2. Click on the Spaces tab.
3. Click on the New button.
4. Specify the space information.
5. Click on the Custom option in the Permissions section:
6. Click on the Create - Then Define Permissions button.
