Webapp Nodes Are Getting Filled To 100% Disk Capacity

Overview

On your Jive on-premise instance, you notice that the space in the partition where /usr/local/jive is held is filling up to 100% of the disk capacity. This also causes the logrotate script on the affected node to not split the log files at the designated split size.

Solution

  1. Disable SELinux on the affected node. The instructions for this would depend on your Operating System (instructions for RHEL 6).
  2. Adjust permissions on the logs using the following command on the affected node:
    semanage permissive -a logrotate_t
  3. Remove the binaryBody* files from /usr/local/jive/var/work. This folder contains the residue Document Conversion files that have persistent copies stored in the binstore (/opt/jiveBinaryStore). Hence the binaryBody* files stored in the  /usr/local/jive/var/work directory can be safely removed to free up used disk space.
