Overview
Customers using custom scripts based on the Jive Core v3 REST API may want to add a Last Viewed Date column to their report.
Can Last Viewed Date be retrieved from the Core v3 REST API?
The standard Jive Core v3 content API exposes information such as:
-
viewCount -
lastActivityDate -
Content creation and modification dates
-
Place/space information
However, lastActivityDate does not represent the exact Last Viewed Date of the content.
There is no documented Core v3 content field that can be relied upon as the exact Last Viewed Date.
Therefore, simply adding lastActivityDate to an existing Core v3 report does not provide the requested Last Viewed Date metric.
How to retrieve Last Viewed Date
For Jive Cloud, Last Viewed Date is analytics data and should be retrieved through the supported Analytics Export / Analytics (DES) API functionality.
Refer to:
Getting the Last Viewed Date of a Content Item in Jive Cloud
If Analytics Export has not been enabled for the customer's production or UAT environment, Support can assist with the appropriate enablement request.
Jive Support does not normally modify, debug, or develop customer-specific reporting scripts.
If the customer wants Jive to modify an existing custom script—for example, to combine Core v3 content data with Analytics/DES data—the request should be handled through Professional Services (PS).
