Overview

You want a snapshot of historic log files.

• You are on a Hosted instance of Jive
• You want log files from 6 months ago, or earlier.

Information

Logs are rolling, only the last 11 are accessible (the one numbered '10' is the oldest). The period inside the logs can be different, it depends on the activity on the site. More activity means faster rolling.

As such, we cannot guarantee that we will have log files for any past time period. If your instance has thousands of users and very heavy activity, we may only have logs for a few hours. On the other hand, if your instance has very few users who seldom log in, we may have log files for a few months.

For Hosted instances, you can SSH into the instance, and look for log files under /usr/local/jive/var/log

The log files are rotated using the ‘logrotate’ feature of Linux servers.
