Overview
Every time an authenticated user views Video content in the Jive community, a video authentication token is generated for their session. You may want to configure the properties of this token to control how many times a video can be played using this token and how long it is valid. You may want to configure these to meet your unique security requirements.
Solution
You can configure the following system properties to modify the behavior of the video's authentication token as per your needs:
# | System Property | Description | Values |
---|---|---|---|
1 | video.max.token.plays |
Controls how many times the video playback can be started. |
Numerical integer values. Examples:
|
2 | video.max.token.time |
Controls how many minutes the token is valid for. |
Numerical integer values. Example:
|
You will need to perform a rolling restart (process for Cloud/Hosted instances and on-premise instances) for the changes to be effective in your Jive community. These system properties work for both Jive Video provider and Twistage/Media Manager based videos.
Additionally, if you'd like to disable video download functionality in your Jive community, you can contact your Account Manager for a Professional Services engagement. Please note that a Professional Services engagement may incur additional costs.
