After starting an upgrade to Jive 9.4, the upgrade process appears to be stuck at the "Add Active date to User Secret Key" step that appears in the Jive Upgrade Console.
This issue can be caused by the application database for your instance having a large number of records in the jiveusersecretkey table.
To check if this is why the task is taking a long time, please run the following query on your application database:
- select count(*) from jiveusersecretkey;
If several thousand records are returned, the "Add Active date to User Secret Key" step may take more than the estimated time that is listed for it in the Jive Upgrade Console. Your database administration team may be able to confirm whether or not there is a query that is actively running on this table and how long this query may take to complete.
For Jive instances that have a large number of users, this process can take up to two hours to complete.
