Overview

It is not possible to create a space that is separate from the parent/root space of the community and has no connection to it. It is however possible to create a space that is inside the root community but does not inherit permissions from it so that access to it can be limited according to your organization's needs.

Solution

To create a space that does not inherit permissions from the root community, follow these steps:

Log in to the Admin Console.
Click on the Spaces tab.
Click on the New button.
Specify the space information.
Click on the Custom option in the Permissions section:
Click on the Create - Then Define Permissions button.
