Overview
After the latest basic or advanced user sync took place, you notice that a federated user group that should have had its membership numbers change as a result of the file hasn't had a member count change.
For example, you might have a federated user group where the membership is determined by a profile field, and you know that the sync file added multiple new users who have the required profile field value to be added to that group. But after the sync, the user group membership did not change or did not increase as much as it should have.
Solution
This issue can occur if the caches for your instance need to be refreshed. As a first step, please try clearing your instance cache using these steps:
- Browse to the Admin Console > System.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Click on Caches in the left-side menu.
- Click on the checkbox at the top of the table:
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Click on the Clear Selected button.
The issue may now be resolved. If it persists, please try these steps:
- Browse to the Admin Console > People.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Click on User Profile Sync.
- Click on the Run Sync Now button.
Testing
To confirm whether or not the user group's membership is now updated, follow these steps:
- Browse to the Admin Console.
- Click on the People tab.
- Click on the User Group Summary.
- Check the number listed for the Members there:
If the membership number still hasn't updated after those steps, please contact us.
