Overview
This article describes the steps that need to be taken to disable or remove a plugin from a Jive hosted or on-premise community.
Solution
Please note: If you would like to remove a module from your instance due to a warning that the license for that module has expired, please contact your customer success manager first to verify if the module license will be automatically renewed for you when your license is updated.
- Browse to the Admin Console > System > Plugins:
- If you would like to disable a plugin, click on the Enable/Disable button for the row that matches the plugin that you would like to disable. A message will appear indicating that the plugin has been disabled, similar to the message in this example of disabling the idea-type-plugin:
- If you would like to remove a plugin, click on the Delete button for the row that matches the plugin that you would like to remove.
- Perform a rolling restart of all the Jive web servers:
- On-premise customers: Please follow the steps in this article.
- Hosted customers: Please follow the steps in this documentation (Please note: Ensure that the Do rolling restart checkbox is selected).
Testing
- Browse to the Admin Console > System > Plugins:
- If you chose to disable a plugin, the button in the Enable/Disable in its row will now look similar to the one in this example:
- If you chose to remove a plugin, it will no longer appear in the plugins table.
