Overview
We have identified an issue in the Jive on-premise releases before version 9.4 where the application doesn't delete temp images (named as temp*.temp where * denotes a numeric string) in the $JIVE_HOME/applications/sbs/home/images
folder after persisting the processed images. These files can quickly grow in numbers, at times reaching above thousands based on your instance's size.
Diagnosis
- Ensure that you are running on Jive on-premise version prior to 9.4. You can find out the version information by using Jive's API calls.
- List the files in the
$JIVE_HOME/applications/sbs/home/images
folder. You should see the *.temp files listed similar to the screenshot below.
Solution
This issue was fixed in the Hosted / On-Prem Core 9.4 with the issue key JVHOPST-13682. Please upgrade your Jive instance to release 9.4 or later to resolve this issue.
In the meantime, you can manually delete these temporary files that were created more than 24 hours ago. This time is defined as a buffer to ensure that you don't remove any file that's still under processing.
If you need support for performing the upgrade, you can get in touch with your Customer Success Manager to engage our Professional Services team. Please note that engaging the Professional Services team may incur additional charges.
