Overview
The Jive Apps Market was the original way that Jive used to distribute apps to Jive communities. With the Jive 9 release, we have taken a step forward in our move to Add-ons by removing the option to install apps from the legacy Jive Apps Market.
The Jive Apps Market was deprecated starting May 15, 2019, for customers utilizing the EU data center and from July 1, 2019, for the customers utilizing the US data center.
Information
With the introduction of additional ways to integrate into Jive, such as tiles and stream integrations, we needed a more robust container, one that can hold, both Jive Apps, and other types of Jive extensions. That led us to create the concept of Add-ons, which are bundles that can hold one or more Jive extensions (apps, tiles, stream integrations, storage integrations, and more). Add-ons are distributed through the new Add-ons page, where the community admin can browse and configure the available Add-ons or install new add-ons.
What has changed for users?
- Users will no longer have the option to install apps through the Jive Apps Market.
- The Manage Your Apps and Jive Apps Market links, that were available when clicking the "Apps" menu item have been removed.
- New options have been added for Add-Ons.
Actions for developers and administrators
Please verify that all your Apps Market applications have been converted to add-ons within the Jive admin console of your community, and converted add-ons do not still utilize the Apps Market gateway. For more information refer to:
