Overview

This article explains if it is possible to export a list of documents authored by a user and provides possible workarounds.

Solution

There is no option to export a list of documents authored by a user, but if you want, you can achieve the result in three ways:

• The first option is to engage the Jive Professional Services, through your Account Manager. They will help you to find the best solution to your needs and, if necessary, develop a custom solution for you.
• The second option is to build your own tool using Jive's extensive API library. For the purposes of this task, the example with Browse all content authored by a particular user will be useful in the REST API examples page on the Jive Developer website.
• The third option is to set up the Records Retention Extension (which, depending on your contract, may require an additional fee), that has the ability to export all documents that are created in your instance. You could also potentially store the documents in a separate place, once they are exported by the Records Retention Extension.
