Please review the information below to determine the impact of the Flash player end-of-life on your instance.
Document Conversion
If your Jive instance is running on a version prior to 9.4, confirm that your instance is using HTML5 for document conversion by following these steps:
- Browse to the Admin Console > System.
- Click on Document Conversion.
- Select Enabled under HTML5 Document Previews.
Video Viewing/Recording
Videos in the Flash Format
Videos that were recorded in the Flash format won't play in your browser if the Flash player has been removed from your computer or if your browser no longer supports it. The browser will instead download the video file to your PC.
To resolve this type of issue, Jive recommends converting videos that have this issue to the MP4 format, then uploading the new version. Please consult with your IT team regarding the conversion process.
Record via Webcam
The functionality to create a video via the Record via Webcam option will no longer be available.
