Some Jive customers do not like the default view by Department in Analytics. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed out of the box. Instead, customers using SSO can change the attribute that is mapped to the Department field, potentially obtaining the same result.
The department field is selected under User Attribute Mapping in SSO settings, and you can change the "value" of the department field in the IDP where the information is stored. The relevant settings are stored on the Admin Console > People > Settings > Single Sign-On > SAML > User Attribute Mapping.
How Long Does It Take for the Change to Be Visible?
By default, this is a daily job that runs at night, depending on the number of users to synchronize; the process can take a significant amount of time. If you want to run it on-demand, you can do so by clicking the "Run Synchronization Task Now" button in People > Settings > Directory Server Settings > User Synchronization.
This procedure changes the default mapping between your SSO source and Jive. Please pay attention when editing these settings as it may result in users not being able to access the instance. Additionally, applying this procedure also changes the way that these attributes are displayed in the User Profiles. So, beware, as this may confuse your end-users or have unwanted side-effects if you have other integrations.
