Overview

When a single user tries to go to their Home page in Jive, they are getting the following error:

An error occurred processing your request. If this problem persists, please contact the webmaster or administrator of this site.

The user is able to open all other spaces, groups, pages, content, etc.

• Environment: Jive Interactive Intranet-AWS/Cloud/Hosted/On-Premise

Diagnosis

1. In this specific case, the jive.homepage property was set to /news.
2. After verifying the system property jive.newspage, it was found that the value where it was pointing to was a publication which was not available anymore.

Solution

1. Navigate to Admin Console > People > User Search.
2. Locate the affected user and click on User Properties.
   
   
3. Look for the system property jive.homepage and confirm its value is still valid.
   • For example, in this case, the jive.newspage needed to be pointing to jive-nav-links-news, which is the default News Page for an instance.
