Overview
This document provides a quick, high-level overview of the Jive-owned features that will be impacted during the major upgrade process, and considerations to make while carrying out testing of the new instance. Please note that this guide is intended to serve as a starting point for customer testing, and does not include specific instructions for customizations, as they are the responsibility of the customer.

Information
Test-Run
The Test-Run phase includes another refresh of the data from your existing Production instance. Testing of data, customizations, and settings in your new production instance after each Test-Run is imperative for identifying and resolving any issues in the new version before the Go-Live.
- Customizations such as SSO and VPN require a migration by the customer or Jive Professional Services, if engaged.
- While Jive Support and Hosting are experts on the product and deployment, each customer community is used in a unique way and tailored to specific business needs and goals. Therefore, you are the best judge of which functionality is most important to your users; for example, if bookmarks and discussions are heavily used, ensure these features are tested.
- When creating a testing/upgrade checklist, please review the Known Issues document for your new version in the Jive Platform space.
- The Video and Gamification modules will not be functional for testing until after the production Go-Live. Activation and license keys for these features cannot be used by more than one instance.
Go-Live
During Go-Live, Jive Hosting will leave the site in maintenance mode so that you can test and configure the site as required.
The functionality of the features listed below will be unavailable until the site is out of maintenance mode:
-
Mobile
-
Apps Market
-
Video
-
Gamification
