The Hosted Major Upgrade Process consists of a three-step process. This article explains what happens during phase one where new instances are built for testing purposes.
- You work with your Account Manager/Executive for scheduling the upgrades as per Planning a Jive Hosted Instance Upgrade.
- Jive Hosting creates the new instance(s) with the upgraded version.
- Your existing data is copied to the new instances during this stage.
Note: If you would like to test the software before there is any data on the new instances please include this in your request with the upgrade case.
- You will then have a chance to explore and get familiar with the changes in the software while having your existing data available.
During this initial phase, customizations and some plugins may not be carried over until you let us know that you are ready to schedule the Go-Live. This ensures that you have had sufficient testing time with the functionality of the upgraded version before moving to the Test-Run phase.
