Overview
Sometimes, the uploaded video shows 'Encoding' even after a long time with a Status = 13 (error). This article provides a resolution on how to make sure the videos are uploaded correctly within Jive.

When the video is created and then exported from a video edit program like Windows Movie Maker, sometimes, settings like fast encode and no verification checks during that process cause things to be missed when the video is being exported and encoded by the software. Later, when the source video gets uploaded, the transcode process will see the missing bits of information and now know how to process it. This results in issues like having the video stuck in encoding status.
To avoid this issue, do the following:
- Make sure that the encoding process during export is slow, accurate, not using things like fast encode and no verification checks active.
- Test the output video from the editor in default programs (Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, etc.) to make sure no issues are present after the video exports.
All of these steps can greatly reduce the issues when uploading to Jive/Twistage (service provider). In general, those steps should always help out in producing high-quality videos.
