Process
- Have a detailed check on the file for any corruption through File > Info > Check for the issue. If any corruption or unique contents like XML content is found, then try either one of the workarounds below to fix the issue:
- Copy the content, recreate a similar document and publish it. These steps fix the problem. Try it with multiple downloads. If you find that a new document resolved the issue, then deprecate the old one.
- Or, check who modified the file recently and check if the user has a local copy of the last modification (i.e. with the correct version info, not yet corrupted, and still syncing). If the local copy of the last modification is found, request the user to open the file and publish the content a couple of times which will fix the corruption (Last Modifier Name will be visible on the Jive page).
Confirmation
The user can now edit the downloaded MS Word document without any issues.
