Overview

You may want to edit/remove the displayed value of a label or link (like the Vote-Up or Vote-Down links in New Ideas). Phrase Substitution is the ability to change most UI text elements (e.g. menu items) in any language in the UI.

This article provides information about enabling the Phrase Substitute feature.

On-Premise Hosted Cloud

Information

You may have the following different options to enable the Phrase Substitution feature:

1. On-Premise customers, by the very nature of their installation, are able to access the Global Theme files which are amendable, in order to modify the feel and look of their UI and will also have the Phrase Substitution feature within the Admin Console (System > Settings > Phrase Substitution).

2. Hosted and Cloud customers both should:
   • Have the key login.err.notAuthToViewCnt.info overridden.
   • Have the phrase substitution option enabled for the Profile Avatar (admin dropdown). This can be requested by the support to update the System Property > phrase.substitution.enabled = true.

Note: Cloud customers are not able to perform phrase substitutions themselves. They have to engage customer support for this.
