Overview
There may be cases where users require access to all spaces without Administrative rights. This is usually the case when users need to view content, such as news, from all spaces within the instance. This can be accomplished by creating a custom user group and adding the specific permission to that group.
Solution
Check the list of user groups and find one that has non-admin access to all spaces. You can do this from the Admin Console Permissions tab Space permissions. From there you can choose a space to view the group permissions. If there is no such group, follow these steps:
- Create a custom user group with the appropriate name for easier management.
- Add specific permissions that allow users to access all spaces within the site without granting them administrative rights. You can do this by following the steps provided in the article: Managing Space Permissions.
Remember, all users with an account are part of the 'All Registered Users' group, but permissions on the space may not inherited by sub-spaces. This might be intentional and should be taken into consideration when adjusting permissions. Refer to Permission Inheritance in Spaces for more information.
Summary
In order to allow users to access all spaces within the instance without granting them administrative rights, you may need to create a custom user group with specific permissions or adjust the permissions of existing user groups as needed.
