No Favicon Displayed in the Safari Home Page

Overview

This article provides the solution for when the Favicons on the Safari browser homepage are not displayed, but other browsers (e.g. Chrome or Firefox) are displaying the Favicons in the homepage as expected.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Log in to the customer's URL.
  3. The Favicon appears on the browser's tab but NOT on the browser's home page favorites.
  • Expected behavior:

Root Cause Analysis

  • The Favicon size is too small.

 

Solution

Please validate the size of the Favicon is, at least, 64*64 pixels, otherwise it won't be displayed on the homepage for the Safari browser.
